Chris was born and raised in Montgomery County and continues to live there today.  He graduated from Penn State University with an Honors Degree in Economics and received his law degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law.  Thereafter, Chris was certified as a retirement planning specialist by the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.  Chris has been practicing law since 2002 and is admitted to practice in the Courts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.

Chris began his legal career in New York City as a family law attorney focusing on divorce, custody and financial issues. Thereafter, he was an attorney with a multi-national financial advising firm, where he assisted clients with financial and estate planning.  He has been a frequent presenter at the Montgomery County Elder Law Round Table and has made presentations around the United States relating to legal issues involving the elderly.  He was licensed by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), which is now known as the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and various state insurance departments, in connection with providing financial and insurance advice, products and services to his clients.

Prior to joining Donoghue & Picker in May of 2022, Chris spent more than eight years as an Assistant District Attorney (ADA) in the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. As an ADA, Chris prosecuted thousands of cases involving homicide, sexual assault, DUI, drug possession, and other crimes.  Chris also served as the Captain of the Economic Crimes/Fraud Unit of the DA’s Office, investigating hundreds of financial crimes.  During his time in the DA’s Office, he also headed its insurance fraud, arson, and elder abuse units. Just before joining Donoghue & Picker, Chris served as the Assistant Chief in charge of representing the DA’s office as the county implemented its new bail reform system.  Chris is proud that during his time in the DA’s Office, he appeared before every judge of the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas and every Montgomery County Magisterial District Judge (previously known as District Justices). Moreover, while in the DA’s Office, Chris regularly presented to other attorneys at continuing legal education seminars on various legal topics.  In addition, while in the DA’s Office, Chris was involved with and received training from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.  Chris is also a member of the National Association of Financial Crime Investigators.

Chris values community service.  He was the Vice President of the Lower Merion Little League for seven years.  He has also donated his time to charitable causes, including, Cradles to Crayons, Jewish Adoption and Family Care Options (JAFCO), the Ronald McDonald House, and the Montgomery County Elder Law Project.
